Conduct and Behaviour Policy

St. Ives Tabletop

1. Introduction

1.1 The St. Ives Tabletop group (henceforth referred to as the “Group”) is managed by a committee (henceforth referred to as the “Committee”).
1.2 This policy covers the acceptable behaviour and conduct of individuals participating in Group activities and events, as well as using digital tools and interactions on social media platforms associated with the Group.

2. Conduct and Behaviour

2.1   The Group will be a safe environment and individuals are asked to take note of the types of behaviour that would be found unacceptable and will not be tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to:
  2.1.1 Use of bad language, verbal abuse, or swearing at other Players.
  2.1.2 Any physical violence and/or threat of physical violence.
  2.1.3 Racial abuse, sexual harassment, and/or intolerance due to gender, race, religion, and/or sexual orientation.
  2.1.4 Causing damage to the venue and/or property of other Players.
  2.1.5 Disorderly behaviour due to the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
  2.1.6 Conducting any illegal activity.

3. Refusal of Entry

3.1 Individuals that are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs may be refused entry.

4. Process to Deal with Violations of this Policy (Active Violation)

4.1   A Committee member will be present at all Group events and activities. If individuals violate this policy with inappropriate behaviour or conduct then a Committee member may take the following actions:
  4.1.1 Issue a formal warning to stop the inappropriate behaviour.
  4.1.2 Ask individuals to leave the event or activity.
4.2   Any individual asked to leave the session will not be entitled to a refund.

5. Process to Deal with Violations of this Policy (Reporting Incident)

5.1   Details of any incident will be shared amongst the Committee (excluding any Committee member involved in the incident).
5.2   Details of the incident will not automatically be shared with the whole Group, unless the incident raises a wider concern that the Committee feel should involve everyone (or that everyone should be aware of).
5.3   The Committee will discuss the incident, with reference to any previous complaints or reports on individuals involved, and determine a response.
5.4   The outcome of the Committee decision and proposed response will be communicated to all parties involved.
5.5   The Committee act as custodians of the Group and will make decisions to ensure a safe environment.
5.6   Potential actions include, but are not limited to:
  5.6.1 Issuing a formal warning from the Committee regarding an individual’s behaviour or conduct. Repeat warnings will be escalated, likely resulting in a permanent ban.
  5.6.2 If incident involves a Committee member, that member being removed from the Committee.
  5.6.3 Players being permanently banned from the digital tools and social media platforms associated with the Group.
  5.6.4 Players being permanently banned from attending the Group.
  5.6.5 Players receiving short term exclusions from Group activities.
  5.6.6 Referring the incident to the police.
